Guest Post from Robert Bluver, Co-Owner of La Mantia Gallery
Every single small business including highly successful ones like LaMantia Gallery faces many challenges day in and day out to grow their business. In light of the recent economic situation it becomes even more critical to create as many opportunities to help with that growth. As one of the premier art galleries in the country we are constantly looking for ways to move our business to the next level.
I was recently contacted by Robert Basso the executive producer of Basso on Business a show dedicated to helping businesses on Long Island deal with some of the challenges facing small business owners. Robert Basso suggested a show with LaMantia Gallery in the spotlight. At first I received this offer with a degree of reluctance, because one is always worried about how your business will be portrayed.
As we started the process and developed the ideas for the show it became clear to me that the objective for Basso on Business is to sincerely help the subject business not ambush them in a negative way. The first part of the show was to focus and touch on specific issues. The second part of the show and for me the most important is how to start solving those issues. This for me was the most positive aspect of the experience. Based on your specific challenges, Basso on Business was able to find the person best qualified to help with your specific needs.
In my case, as an entrepreneur I have many wonderful ideas on how to grow our business, but might need a way to organize these ideas and get them down on paper and set up a blueprint. So with that mind, Peter Cracovaner a business consultant/coach was introduced to the show. Peter was helpful in specifically taking me through the process of developing the structure to implement these ideas.
Being a subject business on an episode of Basso on Business was a very rewarding and positive experience. I only wish we had 8 hours instead of 8 minutes. It would be something I would definitely recommend to other businesses looking for growth and exposure.

Working on the LaMantia Gallery project for Basso on Business was a rewarding experience. The LaMantia Gallery is visually a very appealing place and I recommend a visit just on that basis. Rob Bluver has a lot of energy and I think they run a very good business. The discussion during the Basso on Business luncheon had a lot of interaction and many good ideas were presented by participants. An interesting feeling that I came away with was that much of the advice given by the participants was presented from a point of view of how hard it would be to develop this nationwide wholesale business and the potential pitfalls, rather than what you would need to do to be successful, the rewards to be gained and the growth opportunities for the business and the owners. Success is achieved by solving a business problem from the viewpoint of abundance rather than scarcity. Large problems can be handled by breaking the ideas into smaller solvable issues and moving forward with confidence and self assurance. Performance is no accident, it is based upon self belief, desire and following a detailed blueprint that with proper execution will ensure you get the results you want.
